Some of their Important functions In the health care setup are,Patient monitoring for various diagnostic procedures, Physiological monitoring, Biomedical equipment management, Materials management, Patient transfer, Risk management and Research & Development.Practical training is a significant component of the program, where students gain hands-on experience in performing laboratory tests, handling specimens, operating laboratory equipment, and adhering to quality control and safety protocols.The curriculum also includes courses in anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical ethics, and healthcare management, providing a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system and the role of laboratory professionals.Clinical internships or rotations in hospital laboratories or diagnostic centers allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings under the supervision of experienced laboratory technologists and pathologists.

  • Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the Allied Health Sciences should have passed the qualifying examinations after period of 12 years of study with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology with minimum 65% marks in each subjects (Academic / Vocational Stream).

They work in the operating theatres and emergency departments of hospitals and nursing homes.Openings are available in the areas of transplant units, orthopaedic clinics, gynaecology units, cancer units, surgery, special care baby units etc. and also in the field of research, education and training. They are appointed in the workplaces of physicians or dentists who perform outpatient surgery.
